The Driving Range at Golf Quest reopened on April 20, 2020 based on information from the CT DECD, subject to certain restrictions for COVID -19. Prior to reopening, we instituted many changes, restrictions and procedures intended to protect employees and customers at the Driving Range, including: One Way In; One Way Out Entrance and Exit, Social Distancing signs and markers, Cleaning and Sanitizing Protocols, and installation of a protective barrier at the front desk and provision of PPE for employees and customers.
On May 20, 2020, ReOpen Connecticut was introduced as the first phase of the State’s reopening plan, which included offices, outside dining, retail and other outdoor recreation (in addition to golf courses and driving ranges which were opened the prior month) and included “strict rules to keep customers and employees safe”. In accordance with ReOpen Connecticut, the Golf Shop and lobby of the Driving Range reopened.
In July, 2020, as permitted by ReOpen Connecticut, we opened the mini golf on weekends only for a limited season and started the PGA Junior Golf Summer program, subject to specific rules for social distancing and sanitizing.
Throughout the summer and fall, we have been able to provide a safe outdoor recreation and exercise venue for golfers of all skill levels. Participation in golf lesson programs has been strong, as interest in golf has grown during the pandemic. Performance Clubworks Golf Shop has also benefitted by the pick-up in golf participation. We were happy to provide some opportunity for family fun by opening the mini golf on a limited basis for weekends only, with restrictions and supervised by our staff.
The Driving Range and Performance Clubworks Golf Shop will be open all winter along with PGA Golf Lessons.
For everyone’s safety, customers must follow all posted instructions at Golf Quest for Social Distancing and comply with the latest State COVID-19 Orders: ct.gov/covid.
